‘Astronaut’ is the ever-popular answer many children give to the age-old question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
For many children who answer ‘astronaut’ at first, career aspirations may transform into inventor, scientist, architect, explorer or leader as they approach high school.
But without the educational tools to explore these dreams at school, their natural interest in STEM fades away from rockets, robots, stars and asteroids, and into pre-set curricula that don’t quite address the future needs of society.
At Space Science LLC, our mission is to change that.
Curiosity and innovation don’t have a race, gender or community. They are universal phenomena, and they enrich our lives by encouraging us to explore new frontiers in STEM.
Unfortunately, reflecting this sentiment with diversity in STEM is a fairly recent conversation. By bringing space science to more schools and making it more accessible to children of all backgrounds and abilities, we hope to make inclusivity the future of this field.
Our expert advisory board exists to support our ambitious mission. By providing guidance and unbiased thoughts, they’re on hand to ensure we can continue to maximize space science knowledge across the globe. We’re confident that their innovative and dynamic perspectives will take our organization to the next level.
To see our passion for diversity, take a look at the team behind Space Science LLC. We work with space science enthusiasts and experts from all walks of life, including diverse nationalities, cultures, genders and communities.
Akhilbabu Laxman Turai's passion for space ignited at the age of seven when he got his first copy of Stephen Hawking’s "A Brief History of Time". This fascination led him to pursue studies in aerospace engineering at SRM University and he is currently advancing his knowledge with a Master's in Big Data & Blockchain at IIT Patna.
Throughout his educational journey, Akhilbabu has been inspired and encouraged by influential figures such as Elon Musk, Buzz Aldrin, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and even Stephen Hawking himself.
Today, as an aerospace engineering graduate and space science educator, he is devoted to igniting the same passion for space science in young minds. He stands as a strong advocate for STEM learning and inclusivity.
“My dream is to prepare a new generation of scientists to participate in the $383 billion global commercial space sector, and to protect and preserve our planet Earth.”
